Google Search Console (GSC) is a free tool from Google that shows how your website performs in Google Search. It reports the searches that bring people to your site, which pages they land on, your average position, how often people click, and any technical problems Google has found while crawling and indexing your site. Every business with a website should have it set up.
What can you do with it?
- See the exact search terms people use to find you, and which pages rank for them.
- Spot pages that get impressions but few clicks, so you can improve titles and content.
- Find and fix indexing and technical SEO issues before they cost you traffic.
- Submit your sitemap and ask Google to index new or updated pages.
How to get started
Sign in with a Google account, add your site as a “property”, and verify that you own it, usually by adding a small snippet or DNS record, or through your existing Google Analytics. Once verified, data starts building up within a few days. It is the single most useful free tool for understanding your own search performance, and it is where we measure real progress rather than vanity metrics, as we explain in how to measure SEO success.
You can set it up yourself from the Google Search Console site, or we will get it running as part of any campaign. If you would like us to review what your Search Console data is telling you, request a free SEO audit.
